Three University of Maine students studying in Egypt have fled the country amid unrest that's left about 100 people dead.
That's according to the Bangor Daily News, which reports that UMaine graduate student Andrea Groves, 26, of Tophsam, who is studying anthropology at the American University in Cairo, fled to nearby Jordan Sunday night.
Two other UMaine students, whose names have not been released by the university, have left or will leave soon, UMaine's Office of International Programs Director Karen Boucias told the paper.
U.S. Embassy officials have been advising Americans to leave Egypt as massive anti-government protests continue for a seventh day.
Groves has been living in Egypt for about 18 months, the paper reports. She recently returned to the country after taking a monthlong break in Maine. She arrived back in Egypt just as the protests began to heat up.
