With Mubarak's resignation also comes many questions as to what comes next. It's a historic victory many Egyptians have long waited for.
Salah Hassan, MSU Associate Professor: "The resignation of Mubarak is monumental, but it's not the end, we still have to see how things will shake out."
MSU Associate Professor Salah Hassan studies conflicts in the Middle East. He says now that president Mubarak has stepped down, the big question is what kind of role the military will play by taking over.
Salah Hassan: "There's going to be some kind of constitutional reform indeed, probably some kind of rewriting of the constitution and the place of the army is going to be significant in shaping the short-term future, the real question is what will the long term look like?"
It's going to take time to get that question answered, but on MSU's campus, study abroad officials have already made a decision when it comes to sending students to Egypt.
Cindy Chalou, MSU Study Abroad Assoc. Dir.: "Through the whole process and the issue with some of the travel warning, we suspended our program and requested that all students come home."
MSU's study abroad program won't send any more students to Egypt this semester. Officials are still trying to figure things out for the summer programs. A situation that's changing by the day, but a victory Egyptians will enjoy in the moment.
