Middle East studies in the NewsIslamic School is First in Region to Become Accredited [on Al-Hamra Academy in New England]
Associated Press http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/4284 SHREWSBURY, Mass. --A small, private school in Shrewsbury has become the first Islamic school in New England to become accredited. The Al-Hamra Academy is one of 10 Islamic schools in New England, but it's the first to seek accreditation. The school, which was founded in 1994, has 152 students in preschool through eighth grade. Among the subjects it teaches are Arabic, Islamic studies and the Koran. Principal She said it also makes the school more credible and gives parents more peace of mind.
