Obama Has ‘Questionable' Relationships [Letter to the Editor; incl. Rashid Khalidi]
by Louis A. Redmond
I know this won't go anywhere with the current arrogance of the liberals, but just some thoughts from an old John F. Kennedy Democrat. Ms. Harper has implied that Sarah Palin is somehow a crystalline figurine that is too delicate by conservative standards to answer any questions. Since she came onto the national stage, Gov. Palin has been vilified and she has been forthright in responding to their questions and pseudo accusations. Mr. Obama by contrast has put up a cloud of obfuscation whenever he is questioned on almost anything.
Personally I don't care what color he is, the man has some questionable baggage, but in questioning him, I have been labeled as a racist. My problems with Mr. Obama are myriad, and so far have never been fully addressed by anyone in the DNC. First, who is this guy? He came out of complete obscurity into the national limelight and has never done anything.
Second, he has a whole series of questionable relationships that he has at the very least attempted to obscure. His pastor for over 20 years was Jeremiah Wright who repeatedly has "Goddamned" America and still does today; he has a relationship of some 20 years with William Ayers, a domestic terrorist that still advocated the downfall of the United States both publicly and privately; he has a friendship with a Mr. Rashid Khalidi, an avowed member of the PLO when that organization was an outlaw entity.
Mr. Obama has the right to have relationships with anyone he prefers; however, I believe that his choice of these radicalized relationships at the very least should call into account his judgment since he would be the leader of the United States.
He claims to be a Democrat in the same vein as John F. Kennedy - nothing could be farther from the truth. JFK was famous for his "Ask not what your country can do for you, but rather what you can do for your country!" Obama's entire platform is in stark contrast to that idea.
Sadly for me, the conservatives are currently the only party that are advocating "Country First" - a paraphrasing of JFK's message. Obama has recently accused McCain of vacillating on the issues, but a concerted effort to research issues on the Internet will show a consistent strategy on the part of Obama and the DNC to back whatever issue is being touted by the Main Stream Media.
