It's Not Rational To Call Over 100 Rocket Attacks ‘A Few' [Letter to the Editor; on Muqtedar Khan]

Apparently professors who believe the world is flat cannot reconcile the overwhelming evidence against their belief. Rational discourse, covering all the evidence, seems to be doomed at the start. I quote Muqtedar Khan's Tuesday Delaware Voice column: "Hamas shot a few rockets into Israel; but that is who they are and that is what they do – they are a terrorist organization."

How many thousands of rockets does Dr. Khan count as a few? If your neighbor is a thug demanding your death and destruction, how many shots at your house are needed before you take action to eliminate the threat? I'm sure Dr. Khan would seek an end to these attacks when a few rockets, possibly five or six, struck his house.

It is not that the "world's democracies are facing a moral recession," as Dr. Khan claims. It is that all peoples, who value life, need to stand up and take determined actions (diplomatic, economic and, if necessary, military) in demanding "never again" against all those that clearly value death and elimination of others.
