Middle East studies in the NewsRighteous Jihad! [on Juan Cole]
by Jules Crittenden http://www.julescrittenden.com/2009/01/07/righteous-jihad/ http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/6565 As you know I don't support the Weblog Awards and have asked for your non-votes* due to an old grudge I am nursing and the fact that it is a pointless popularity contest that doesn't follow its own rules. However, I wholeheartedly support Michael Totten's jihad on the academic more terrorists trust, Juan Cole. I feel strongly that if anyone should win the Best Middle East Blog, it shouldn't be Cole. Especially since he wanks at the University of Michigan, which at last check is in the Midwest, not the Mideast. On your way through Totten's (Lebanon-based, Mideast war-zone trotting) site to vote for him, don't forget to hit his PayPal button and support independent war correspondence. * Latest results indicate that six other finalists are getting more non-votes than I am, which means that too few of you are not voting for me. By the way, a quick check indicates Totten has made Cole his houri. Israelly Cool is also beating Cole, which is also good. I'd like to give a shout out for Days of My Life and Sudanese Thinker, which deserve better than they are getting.
