Middle East studies in the NewsManara School: How Do You Cry "Foul" In Arabic?
by Steve Blow http://metrocolumnistsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2009/05/manara-school-how-do-you-cry-f.html http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/8153 A proposed new charter school in Coppell plans to teach Arabic. Its name is Arabic -- "Manara," meaning lighthouse or beacon. And now it has run into permit problems with the city. A "traffic safety" issue, they say. But when the property housed a Lutheran school, it had even more students. If the Lutheran school was reopening, would residents have turned out to protest? I'm just asking.
