Middle East studies in the NewsWriting for the Media Workshop [incl. William Beeman]
by Press Release http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/8385 Friday, September 25, 2009 "Writing for the Media: Helping the Public Undersand the Middle East and Islamic World" is a workshop sponsored by the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and the School of Journalism on how to write effective commentaries and opinion pieces on the Middle East and Islamic world. It is open to faculty and students. Featured experts include William O. Beeman (University of Minnesota professor and chairman of anthropology), Mark Kimble (Tucson Citizen associate editor) and Sarah Gassen (Arizona Daily Star editorial writer). The workshop will be facilitatied by School of Journalism professor Maggy Zanger. Those who are interested must e-mail mideast@email.arizona.edu to RSVP.
