Islamine Blog http://islamine.blogspot.com/2009/10/0203102009-us-to-have-first-accredited.html http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/8483 Upholding a motto "When Islam meets America," Zaytuna Institute would apparently become a full accredited Islamic university by the next fall. The optimism came out of Imam Zaid Shakir, who was along with Sheikh Hamza and Dr. Hatem Bazian founded the Zaytuna Institute in 1996 ago in the Bay Area. The university would be open for men and women from any 'religious and racial backgrounds, including the Jewish students.' "Every applicant will be considered on their merits," Shakir said. Two major subjects at the university are Arabic language and Islamic legal and theological Islam. Subject on the Middle-East would also available at some points, especially on the Palestine-Israel conflict, which is said to be taught by certain professors who are expert on the case. Zaytuna Institute is a non-profit, educational institute and school founded and run by people committed to reviving time-tested methods of educating and transforming human beings. Its mission is 'to provide the highest quality educational programmes, materials, and training in the traditional sciences of Islam in the most beautiful way using the most effective tools of time as a mean of serving Lord and honoring the Prophet Muhammad.'
