Middle East studies in the NewsFlashpoint: A Professor for the Dark Ages [on Joseph Massad]
by Rabbi Yaakov Spivak http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/flashpoint/2009/10/a-professor-for-the-dark-ages.html http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/8578 When Colombia University granted tenure to Associate Professor Joseph Massad it took a step back into the dark ages. This "professor" made a mockery of academic free speech when he threatened to expel a student for challenging his "Israel is evil" point of view. He compared Israelis to Nazis, and demanded that a former Israeli soldier in his class get up and tell all those assembled exactly how many Palestinians he had killed. This again demonstrates how frightened academia is of oil rich Arab countries who buy the halls of ivy with their blood money. One wonders what next pressure will be placed on colleges and universities to push the anti-Israel point of view. I can never forget how, as Jewish Chaplain at Fairleigh Dickinson University, I watched as a representative of the PLO injected his venomous lies into the minds of University students. That was more than twenty-five years ago. If you want to know where the brainwashed anti-Israel Jewish left is coming from you don't have to look far.
