Roommate: Grad Student Charged in New York Professor's Death Made Threat [on Richard Antoun]

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — People who lived and studied with the graduate student accused of fatally stabbing a Binghamton University anthropology professor say the younger man was confrontational and threatening.

Souleyman Sukho says that Abdulsalam al-Zahrani came at him with a knife during the three weeks they shared an apartment with another student, Luis Pena.

Pena says he recalls the 46-year-old sitting on the sofa and suddenly blurting out, "I just feel like destroying the world."

Authorities say the Saudi national was charged with murder Saturday in the death of 77-year-old Richard T. Antoun.

Broome County District Attorney Gerald Mollen said he didn't know whether al-Zahrani has an attorney, and there was no phone listing in Binghamton for him.
