Binghamton University officials were told that a graduate student accused of stabbing to death a 77-year-old professor was acting violently three days before the killing.
The Press & Sun-Bulletin of Binghamton reports that Professor Joshua Price was concerned about complaints that 46-year Abdulsalam Al-Zahrani (ab-DUHL'-sah-lam al-zah-RAH'-nee) of Saudi Arabia was threatening a roommate.
Price arranged for the roommate to meet with university staff psychologist Donald Glauber last Tuesday, and Glauber told the student to avoid Al-Zahrani. Price also described Al-Zahrani as "desperate" just before Richard T. Antoun was stabbed to death on Friday in his campus office.
Al-Zahrani is charged with second-degree murder and remains held without bail.
