Middle East studies in the NewsPerspective about Hysteria [incl. Yale University Press]
by Michael Rubin http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=Mzg4N2I2ZTU1OTNjNDQ5NWQ4OGM4MTBmYjg1MzEwOTQ= http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/8965 Ramesh, I do agree with you, but to point out one additional element of hypocrisy in Fareed Zakaria's warnings about hysteria: In his position as a member of the Yale Corporation (the governing body of Yale University), Fareed spoke about the need for pre-emptive censorship of a Yale University Press book in order to undercut the possibility of future terrorists find cause to target Yale. He took this position after writing, in a Newsweek cover essay about radical Islam, that "We should mount a spirited defense of our views and values." Indeed, when it comes to hysteria, it seems that Mr. Zakaria too is the pot calling the kettle black.
