SPME Petition to Free Haleh Esfandiari

Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) has launched a petition drive demanding that Iranian authorities immediately release Haleh Esfandiari of the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C. She was imprisoned on May 10 at the infamous Evin Prison after being prevented from leaving Iran following a visit to her elderly mother.

In addition to demanding Esfandiari's release, the petition demands that rogue Iranian president President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad "be individually held accountable for this egregious imprisonment in an international court of law for anything that might happen to Dr. Efandiari."

You may sign the petition here. As of 10:30 am EDT today, SPME still needed about 4,400 signatures to meet their goal of 5,000.
